1. About WCA
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the White Coat Academy website, member account area, application forms, courses, certificates, messaging tools, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”) operated by White Coat Academy (WCA) (“WCA”, “we”, “us”).
WCA is an independent organisation focused on medical education, academic development, and professional learning for students and healthcare learners. We are not a hospital, clinic, insurer, or regulator.
2. Acceptance
By creating an account, submitting a form, or otherwise using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
3. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law and use the Platform for lawful educational purposes. You are responsible for ensuring that your use complies with the rules of your university, training programme, or employer where relevant.
4. No medical advice; no doctor–patient relationship
Content on the Platform — including articles, presentations, courses, case discussions, quizzes, and certificates — is provided for general educational and informational purposes only.
- It does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care instructions.
- It does not create a doctor–patient, clinician–patient, or supervisory relationship between WCA and any user.
- You must not rely on Platform content as a basis for clinical decisions. Always seek qualified professional guidance and follow local laws, institutional policies, and licensing requirements.
- In a medical emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.
5. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate registration information and keep your profile reasonably up to date. Notify us promptly at whitecoat.contact@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, pose a security risk, or are used abusively, with or without notice where reasonably necessary.
6. Applications, courses, and certificates
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. Course participation and certificate issuance are subject to WCA rules, completion criteria, and verification. Certificates attest to educational participation or achievement as described on the certificate itself; they are not professional licences or government credentials unless explicitly stated.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Platform for unlawful, harmful, or misleading purposes;
- harass staff or other members, or upload offensive or infringing content;
- attempt to breach security, scrape data, or interfere with Platform operation;
- misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or affiliation with WCA;
- use Platform materials to provide unauthorised clinical services or commercial exploitation without permission.
8. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, WCA and its licensors own the Platform, branding, course materials, and content. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive licence to access materials for your own educational use. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, or publicly perform materials except as expressly permitted or with written consent.
9. Third-party links and tools
The Platform may link to external websites or tools. WCA is not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.
10. Disclaimers
The Platform and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” for educational purposes. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, WCA disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, and non-infringement. Educational content may become outdated; we do not warrant that content is error-free or suitable for every jurisdiction or clinical setting.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, WCA and its directors, volunteers, faculty, partners, and suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or clinical outcomes, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Platform or reliance on its content.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct, or death/personal injury caused by negligence where such limitation is prohibited).
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid WCA for the specific paid service giving rise to the claim in the twelve (12) months before the event, or (b) one hundred euros (€100), except where a higher minimum is required by law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WCA from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, misuse of the Platform, or violation of any law or third-party rights, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
13. Data protection
Our processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the accuracy of data you submit and for using the Platform in compliance with applicable privacy rules in your context (for example, when discussing patient-related topics, do not include identifiable patient information unless you are legally authorised to do so).
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change accordingly. Material changes may require renewed acceptance when you next log in or register, where legally required. Continued use after notice may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer or data-protection rules in your country of residence provide otherwise. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Türkiye, unless mandatory law requires a different forum.
