Cancer Awareness: Clinical Basics and Early Recognition
The Cancer Awareness: Clinical Basics and Early Recognition course is designed to provide medical students with a foundational understanding of cancer as a complex group of diseases.
The course covers basic concepts of carcinogenesis, common cancer types, risk factors, and early warning signs. Emphasis is placed on the importance of early detection, screening principles, and recognizing red flags in clinical practice.
Participants are introduced to fundamental diagnostic approaches, including imaging, pathology, and staging concepts, as well as the multidisciplinary nature of cancer management. The psychosocial impact of cancer and the role of the physician in patient communication and support are also discussed.
This course aims to increase clinical awareness, promote preventive thinking, and prepare students to identify potential malignancies during routine patient encounters.
