Fundamentals of Ultrasound and Point-of-Care Applications
The Fundamentals of Ultrasound and Point-of-Care Applications webinar, organized by White Coat Academy, is a comprehensive online educational program designed for medical students.
The course covers the basic principles of ultrasound, current clinical applications, and the role of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in emergency and bedside decision-making. Key topics include FAST and eFAST protocols, musculoskeletal and soft tissue ultrasound, interventional ultrasound guidance, and emerging applications such as artificial intelligence–assisted ultrasound.
The program is delivered in two structured sessions combining expert-led presentations, interactive discussions, and short quizzes to reinforce learning. Emphasis is placed on understanding ultrasound as a rapid clinical decision-support tool rather than a standalone diagnostic modality.
Participants will gain a clear conceptual framework for when and how ultrasound should be used in clinical practice, its limitations, and its integration with other imaging modalities. A certificate of participation will be provided upon completion.
